Phoenix Day depends on strong community support to provide care and services to our children and families and the greater South Central Phoenix community.  With generous support and/or time given from our “Friends of Phoenix Day”, Corporations, Foundations and Grant organizations we will achieve our financial needs and support our mission.

We are constantly striving to meet our annual goals and enrich the lives of those we touch.  You can help make the difference.  This year’s goal is to raise $525,000 to provide early childhood education, childcare and health services to the at-risk youth and low-income families in our neighborhood.

Please help us build brighter futures for our children and aid families in their journey to becoming self-sufficient.

Your Donation and the Arizona Working Poor Tax Credit

You may qualify to receive an Arizona tax credit (up to $300 in 2005; up to $400 in 2006) by giving to Phoenix Day.  Arizona allows a dollar-for-dollar credit against your income tax if you donate money to organizations that meet the needs of the working poor.  This credit is the Working Poor Tax Credit and can be taken in addition to the credits for public school contributions and/or school tuition organization contributions.  Please consult your tax advisor and Arizona Form 321 and instructions for the annual reporting requirements of the credit on your Arizona individual income tax return.

Matching Gifts

Double or even triple your gift's impact! More than one thousand companies offer some level of corporate match for their employees' philanthropic interests. Contact your company's personnel or human resources office to find out if your employer, or your spouse's employer, has a matching gift program. If you have questions or need further information, contact our Administrative office at (602) 254-4613.

Volunteer

Our volunteer program recruits, retains and recognizes individuals, corporations and community groups who give Phoenix Day the gift of their time and talents to enrich the lives of our children and our community. Volunteer activities vary significantly, including spending time working with children on arts and crafts projects, conducting weekend fix-up and painting projects, and assisting with special events.

We often partner with individuals, corporations and service organization for volunteer activities. As with any childcare center, committed volunteers require a federal background check. For information on giving the gift of your time, please contact Rosemary Cortez at 602-254-4613 x101.
